From a dailykos thread, talking about kids doing the Eminem Mosh the Vote
bit...
Hood black sweatshirts.
In my small town (pop. 14,000)... I happened to travel over to the grocery
store (we all voted this AM in my household).
Any way... there was a group of about 3 young people standing in front of
the supermarket.. all wearing black hooded sweatshirts. No signs for Kerry-Edwards...
just standing there. I barely noticed them when I drove in.
I thought about it while shopping and remembered that there's this mosh video
and this eminem character and this black hooded jacket thing (hey, I read
kos!). And then on the way out I honked the horn of my vehicle and gave a
thumbs up sign. Well, let me tell you folks... these high-school aged kids
(probably not voters) gave me the sign right back, and they changed demeanor
and gave high-fives.
I'm going to rest easy tonight.
which got this response
I'm afraid I grossed out a couple of young people today, dressed as I was,
a middle-aged white woman, in my black hoodie with a homemade sign pinned
to the front that said "Mosh the Vote" (hey, had to cover up the logo of the
company that fired me -- but I kept the shirt). I could imagine them thinking:
"Eww! Old lady! Eminem! Eww!"
Nevertheless!!

yes, no, sorry. much as i'd love to ok everything. thousands of poor
families are fooked if RIPTA poos its pants from lack o' funds. towns should
(militantly) protect their own water ans shores, and suing the living shit
out of other towns whose effluence causes problems downstream. providence
should finish the big stuff first. they can OK town-specific wastewater stuff
later. toughen and enforce septic tank laws. build sewers right the first
time. old houses, well, preservation comes from gentrification. toughen existing
laws on absentee landlords first. preserve people then buildings. besides,
garages are worth 6 figures these days. the armory, well, i'm just a sucker
for that 'hood. lotta relatives came from thereabout.

as to drudge sludge, this from someone who votes in that polling place
apparently some
truth. KE people at the poll said three incidents in the am, one records
mix up, one machine broke and one incident involving some "guys who came into
the polling place and started intimidating people". Asked whether the guys
seemed to have an agenda, the response was no -- just to disrupt.

As to ballot shiz, you should really be deciding that yourself. But I'm
going no on both. The first one I agree with half of, but I don't want to
give the Governor more powers so thumbs down from me. Number 2, though the
number be beloved by lurkers, the last time they did this it wasted a couple
million dollars and the changes got rejected by the voters once their proposed
plan became obvious. So unless you DON'T expect the same performance from
RI's crookedest, I'd hit reject there too. Here's the state
issued shiz on all the referenda.
